Doing It Wrong! Music & Lyrics Mirko Pelgrom Music Inspiration sometimes hits when you least expect it. While dialing in a guitar tone for another song I started playing a riff that would become the theme for Doing it Wrong. Instead of doubling the guitars for that riff, I ended up creating two very different parts more than an octave apart. Makes it sound really massive. The keyboard intro melody turns around midway. This was a mistake I made while first playing it, but it sounded so cool that I kept it this way. Life lesson; making mistakes creates more beauty than perfection (more about that later) Lyrics We verbalize more and more, but communicate less and less. Modern technology has given each of us our own soap box and megaphone, but no one really listens. What is the purpose of telling everybody that they are “Doing it wrong”, according to our standards? Fun fact; this song has three verses before we hit a chorus, that’s rather unusual. Arthur did a great job making each verse sound distinct, amazing!more

The acoustic instrumentation lets the hooky chorus shine, emphasized by gentle backing vocals. The verses tell the story, focusing on four different time periods, from high school, through college to the corporate world. The bridge and the outro change the pace and bring twists to the story, both lyrically and musically.more
